About Us

History

After many years of experience in the Tool Hire industry, plus a concrete mixer and a few small tools, in 1982, our Director, Keith Williams decided to establish his own business with Mainline Tool and Plant Hire. Over the years the company has grown considerably and we now have an enviable reputation for being a quality independent supplier, with a team of highly experienced staff and some of the best technicians in the field.

The profile of our customer base has changed since our initial launch and today Mainline is now a dynamic business who operates from a purpose built two-acre site in Swadlincote, Derbyshire with 4000+ customers. Our remit not only covers hiring out a wide range of the latest tool and plant and power generation (sale/hire) equipment, but we also have a range of energy solutions, including our expansion into the biomass market, an area we were extremely keen to do, to assist in reducing the ever rising energy bills both for the business and consumer.

In addition we have our very own Training Centre which provides training solutions to organisations, enabling them to meet any necessary standards set down by relevant bodies. Customers can undertake standard or bespoke theory and practical training at our headquarters, provided by our dedicated professional trainers. Another option is to have it carried out in-house, reducing your employee downtime.

Mainline has a wealth of knowledge and implements forwarding-thinking strategies, continually researching tomorrow’s new technologies. as well as forming quality partnerships to anticipate and meet market sector and customer demands.

The company has a supportive and committed management structure in place and a dedicated team of people working together to deliver a total supply chain solution. We work on an effective, reliable and flexible delivery basis, which in turn improves competitiveness and savings for customers and deal with each enquiry on an individual basis.
